Artlist alternative
Artlist alternative: pay per generation, not per month
If you are looking for a Artlist alternative, the real difference is not which models each one carries: it is what happens to what you paid. Artlist starts at USD 19.99 a month, and what you do not use that month is gone. On Troquel there is no subscription: you top up from USD 10, each credit is worth USD 0.01, it never expires, and the price of every generation is on screen before you press the button.
Side by side
| Troquel | Artlist | |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | Per generation. You top up when you want. | Monthly subscription: AI Starter, USD 19.99 |
| Minimum to start | USD 10, once | USD 19.99 a month, for as long as you use it |
| Do unused credits expire? | No. The balance stays until you spend it. | No, and when the subscription ends the balance goes to zero |
| Can you use it without a subscription? | Yes: it is the only way | Top-ups only on their higher plans, and they expire in 30 days |
| Free tier | None. You top up from USD 10. | No free plan: they offer a sample with no published amounts |
| Price before you generate | On screen, on every generation | They publish a credits-per-model table |
| One second of Veo 3.1 with audio | USD 0.15 | USD 0.51 (425 of their credits, on AI Starter) |
How that number is reached
One second of Veo 3.1 with audio: on Artlist that is 425 credits, and their AI Starter plan gives 16,500 credits for USD 19.99, so it works out at USD 0.51. On Troquel it is 15 credits, that is USD 0.15.
Artlist charges video by the second, Troquel by the clip: ours is a fixed eight second clip, so you cannot buy just one second.
Credits are a different unit on each platform — one Artlist credit is not one Troquel credit — so comparing them one to one says nothing. That is why this page quotes the same generation on both sides, with the arithmetic in view.
Artlist figures were read on their official page on Sep 20, 2026, linked below. Prices change often: if something does not match what you see today, write to hello@troquel.ai with the link and we will fix it. What they do not publish is marked as such; we do not estimate it.
Artlist pricing, on their siteWhen Artlist is the better choice
- On yearly plans several models are unlimited, including GPT Image 2.0, the Nano Banana family and Kling 2.6. Veo 3.1 is not on that list.
- It carries a licensed music, sound effects and footage library, which Troquel does not have.
- It is built for teams and agencies: seats, SOC 2 Type II and legal indemnification. Troquel is one account with an API key.
If that is your case, Artlist will serve you better. This page is not here to claim we are better at everything.
What you get for what it costs to start
The smallest top-up, USD 10, is 1,000 credits that never expire. These are the cheapest models in the catalog and what that top-up buys on each.
Questions

One second of Veo 3.1 with audio: on Artlist that is 425 credits, and their AI Starter plan gives 16,500 credits for USD 19.99, so it works out at USD 0.51.
